Mendy McLaughlin
Hello and thanks for taking time to get to know a little about me. I am a Licensed Pofessional Counselor Associate with over 13 years of experience working in the school systems, and my passion for mental wellness runs deep. My journey began as a published author of a children's book focused on anti-bullying and promoting positive mental health, which sparked my desire to work closely with students. For over a decade, I’ve specialized in supporting students in special education, helping those with learning and behavioral challenges navigate their academic journeys.
I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling Therapy, and I’ve had the privilege of working with couples and families to foster healing, growth, and connection. I’ve also served as a School Counseling Director of Mental Health and Special Education Services, where I oversaw accommodations, modifications, learning support, 504 plans, IEPs, and ARDs. This role has given me invaluable insight into the intersection of mental health and education, allowing me to guide students, parents, and educators toward success.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the unique opportunity to work in both public schools and private Christian school settings, offering a broad perspective on the different educational environments and how they impact mental health. My diverse background enables me to connect with people from all walks of life.
Outside of my professional life, you’ll often find me off-roading in the Jeep, spending time with my beloved Boxer dogs, enjoying the company of family, and savoring a great cup of coffee. The ocean is my ultimate happy place—it’s where I go to recharge and find peace.
I’m here to help you and your family find the support and strategies needed to thrive. Whether you're seeking individual counseling, family therapy, or school-based support, I’d be honored to walk with you on your mental wellness journey.
